I suppose you can not do that from the gui right now. There are some workarounds though

1. To download multiple files, simply tar or zip them and download the tar or zip file. To do so you need to use the command line (for example terminal command area in the file browser).
2. To delete multiple files, again, you can simply run a command in the terminal command area.
